Besides not working at all, I think plebbit will never succeed. The most important thing, other than reliability, is having interesting, wholesome, and real content created by users. Even though Reddit usually sucks because of [deleted] stuff, you can still find useful, funny, and interesting posts that you can relate to. The most frustrating point for plebbit is that it was born among retarded people (crypto boys, people who should be in a psychiatric ward, and so on). I really hope the VC funding plan works, because other than that, it's ogre. You can clearly see there aren't even any new or interesting posts lately. Most people seem to have given up creating content and many subs have been down for months now. I was just wondering about this because I was looking at old prints from Reddit, both deleted and not deleted, and I tend to believe that the era of message boards and forums has been over for at least 10 years now. The internet is so pasteurized and limiting that talking about buzzwords such as decentralization and p2p stuff is totally useless because nobody cares or understands those things. The only people who care about message boards nowadays are those of us over 30 who were active on forums in the early/late 2000s, and even those people will most likely never use a message board again, especially if it's related to crypto/4chan and stuff like that. Crypto boys only care about making money, which is impossible on plebbit, so there's no interest there. Also, keeping a sub online is such a hassle that is not even worth wasting time or computer power on that, as ifps is such a bloated thing to use. TL;DR: It's more over than ever.
