David Sacks, initially positioned to take a leading role in AI and cryptocurrency within Donald Trump’s administration, has seen his responsibilities scaled back due to ethical concerns. Instead of spearheading the tech agenda, Sacks will now serve in an advisory capacity. Meanwhile, Michael Kratsios, who previously held the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) under Trump, steps in to guide the administration’s tech operations.

DEAR PLEBBIT READERS: This week we ask our users to help us. To protect our independence, we’ll never run ads or sell out to VCs.
We survive on donations averaging about $15. Now is the time we ask. If everyone reading this right now gave $3, our fundraiser would be done within an hour. Yep, that’s about the price of buying a programmer a coffee.
We’re a small, decentralized project with big ambitions: maintaining servers, improving performance, and building a future for free, uncensored speech. Plebbit is something special. It’s like a library or a public square where we can all share ideas without fear of censorship. If plebbit is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online and ad-free another year. Thank you.
Because it's meant to be a special UI exclusive for the team's blog (you see the design and you're instantly reminded of the dev team).
Also I like our strategy of cloning UIs, we should stick to it imo, it's a memeable concept that's easy to understand: we replace all centralized social media by providing their same exact UIs, or UIs very close to them like apollo/RIF, so their users can easily migrate to our decentralized alternatives, already knowing how the familiar UI works, but they are free from global admins and censorship.
So I'd rather work on a clone of Substack, Medium or even mirror.xyz (not sure how decentralized it really is, and it's blockchain based so maybe it would be cool to recreate it to make it accessible to non-crypto folks).
