1: its a 'roman salute' and not 'antisemetic'. however, that doesnt ignore the almost intrinsic post roman historical connotations (nazis) which elon's funders and military industrial connections wont forget.
2: he argues that it was an exercise in free speech absolutism and that he was testing the social tolerance for extremism as a social experiment (still fails as he is the 'richest' man in the world and has fiduciary obligation to shareholders. he will get many shareholder lawsuits from this for breaching his 'fiduciary obligations' which could crash tesla/x and could kick start the bear market).
it will be interesting to see how his pr team handles is
given the ADL has already called elon musk's salute an 'awkward gesture' that is not a 'Nazi salute' your theory is proven wrong, unless they are making excuses for him publicly and plotting something behind the scenes.
its so strange seeing so many Js make excuses for elon's salute. If it was one salute the argument could reasonably stand ('just an awkward moment' but the fact that i was two clear solutes makes it unequivocally deliberate).
