It could just be marketing hype. Majorana-1 has 8 qubits, and no proof of computation has been shown yet afaik. In theory it's designed so it can scale to a million stable qubits, which would be revolutionary. This does look much more promising than Google's work, but it doesn't seem to guarantee anything as of yet.
However, this is a wake up call to adopt quantum-resistant cryptography. Ethereum should implement these algos with the Pectra upgrade, expected on mainnet sometime in April 2025.
