Activity pub never took off...
It doesn't sync properly, and it's too splintered between many instances.
FChan, a decentralized chan based on activity pub, failed around 2 years ago.
That said, i don't know why, by the mastodon crowd is populated by the LGBT migrants lovers.
Open society and Soros give them money. That could be why.
Funnily enough, there's also "the other side" so to speak which are pro free speech, edgy otaku or whatever. That's why the "LGBT migrant lovers" create [instance blocklists like this one](https://github.com/gardenfence/blocklist/blob/main/gardenfence-fediblocksync.csv) because they don't want to interact with them. The problem with that is as a more neutral user you'll have to pick a side and be completely cut off the other one.
