SO, now the question is, how long until they reach 5000 qubits or so? Because if I understand correctly, once they will they will basically have the power to decrypt all non-quantum-resistant cryptocurrencies. Yes you read that right, they'll be able to steal your plebbit tokens. IN THEORY, eth pink sock people will implement quantum resistance by then, during "The Splourge". Similar improvements will be made for bitcoin. BUT, what if China or whatever obscure actor manages to create a 5K qubits quantum computer before everyone else expects to? What if the latest breakthroughs in artificial superintelligence are accelerating technological development so much so that maybe some tech will uncontrollably grow faster than others, exceeding all expectations? If the quantum race escalates in just a few years from now, will the soy-infused pink-sock-wearing eth developers mentally be able to keep up and deliver?? WILL DEVS DO THE NEEDFUL?????? I'm not an expert. I wonder if it also relates to quality of sleep, cooler temperatures provide for better rest. A counter point might highlight that a lack of sunlight based vitamin D increases depression such as occurs in areas of seasonal sunlight deficiency and the S.A.D. phenomenon. Also worth asking if there was a control in place for temperature v sunlight exposure.
